About Yoga
The yoga training used by Kim at Unwind Yoga is inherently Hatha in nature and goes beyond shape-making on a mat. It utilises vinyasa flow and precise instruction to intelligently reveal the true gifts of the eight limbs (astanga) at the heart of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras (the birthplace of all modern interpretations of yoga).
Yoga:
- Is for everyone, regardless of existing fitness, shape or ability to focus.
- Helps you to unwind – the nervous system is encouraged to relax.
- Integrates mind and body, positively enhancing every aspect of your life.
- Improves posture and flexibility.
- Enhances your muscle and skin quality.
- Increases energy, positivity and creativity.
The Dynamic Yoga Training Method:
- Refers to the dynamics of integrity within the body, not to a particularly vigorous practise.
- Utilises precise instruction and vinyasa flow to help guide students to the heart of yoga quickly - the inherent integrity of the human body and mind.
- Allows you to work within your current personal capacity (based on your present health, physicality and level of understanding). It does not impose impossible postures or dogmatic beliefs.
- Is free from suggestion, metaphor and simile, therefore avoiding confusion.
- Enables you to become more energy-efficient through using the minimum possible muscular effort necessary.
- Invites you to feel what is actually happening in your body (founded on developing sensitivity to the sensation of actions and their subsequent impacts). This is a potent gift and cultivates independence and self-confidence in your practice.
- Invites you to enquire into the possibility of not judging your practice, of accepting it, of not analysing it. Whatever happens happens. This is OK. This is inevitable.
Unwind Personalised Yoga Instruction:
- Is sensitively tailored to the needs of each individual client, therefore enabling clients to progress at an optimum speed.
- Takes place at a time to suit your schedule.
- Takes place in the comfort and privacy of selected yoga studios, or you own home.
